SUMMER 2008 CONTEST: REBUILD THE VILLAGE

With prizes I may add more depending on the turnout.

Dear Shinobi,
I have a mission for you.

Rebuild the village: The goal of this contest is to gather more members over the summer. Every current member is an automatic participant, myself excluded. Please see rules to get what I mean.

Start Date: May 19, 2008
End Date: August 15, 2008

Rules: Simply promote the club. Promote HNV in your journal, sig, whatever. Go ahead and even say it’s for a contest. I also edited the rules to request prospective members to state who told them about the club. When reviewing notes, I will tally up the HNV members who’ve been given referrals by all the newcomers. The member who has brought in the most new members is the winner.

As expected, most new members will either come here by accident or forget where they heard about this club, so that’s why this is taking place over the course of the whole summer. This’ll give current members a good amount of time to accumulate points. New members are automatically “entered” as well. Someone could join in late July and still be able to recruit members until August 15.

In case you’d like to know, to put the club’s icon in your journal or signature, simple write : icon[username] : without the spaces between the colons. To put the club name in your journal or signature, write : dev[username] : without the spaces.

PRIZE: A three month subscription to deviantART for the HNV member who recruited the most new members over the summer.

Again, prizes may be added depending on the participation for the contest. If this has a better turnout than expected, I’ll gladly donate more. This contest can either fly or flop, so I’m just going to hope for the best. You really need to participate to make this work. I’ll help promote the club, too, though I won’t be participating in this contest.

If this works, we’ll have enough regular members to get a real contest started for the fall.
